MGF/TF Rear Window Panel

In 2005 MG gave it's MGTF a heated glass rear window.  Up until that point owners of MGFs and MGTFs had problems with the plastic rear screen discolouring with age or cracking during cold weather.  Now you can fit a genuine MG heated glass screen in a mohair panel which will replace the existing one.  No need to replace the whole hood if it's in good condition.  Please note that this replacement rear panel will fit all models of MGFs and MGTFs.  It's not quite a zip out and zip in process, but it's not far off it.

If for some reason you prefer to retain a plastic rear window, we can supply and fit one of these as well.  However, please note that the ones that we use have the screen "welded" in place so that it does not leak.  Some of the cheaper ones that you see advertised only have the plastic stitched in place and they can let in water.

Please note:

while every effort is made to achieve a good colour match, the end result will depend on the condition of the original hood.  Hoods do fade and get dirty over time.

the glass rear screen can be used with roll hoops that fit through the T-bar (which is most of them).  The only ones that cause problems is the older Mark I X-Power Hoops.  If you look at the above video you will see the hood being operated with Mike Satur's hoops fitted.  Not sure, then just ask for assistance.

Mark 1 Mohair Hood Complete

This hood retains the looks of the Mark I MGF hood (changed to Mark II circa. 1997) and has three seams as per the original MG hoods.  It has a genuine MG heated glass window and will only fit onto a Mark I hood frame.

Mark 2 Mohair Hood Complete

This hood only has the one seam to match the later MGFs and MGTFs and is fitted with a genuine MG heated glass window to match the hoods fitted to the 2005 MGTFs.  It will only fit onto a Mark II hood frame.
